What if the day after Black Friday you created a powerful cultural day in your neighbourhood?

Each year, thousands of artists and cultural organisations around the world come together in a unique global movement to celebrate culture and support social causes through their event. On 28th November 2026, Scotland is joining the celebration of Fair Saturday, and everyone is invited to take part.

Fair Saturday places art and culture at the centre of society. In these uncertain times, it is more necessary than ever to acknowledge the work of artists and cultural and social organisations and to support their work so they can continue to create and generate a positive impact.

Through a programme of cultural events and activities, each supporting a social project or the local community, Fair Saturday promotes social inclusion, kindness and sharing.

Fair Saturday is a movement for all types of artists, cultural organisations, venues and social projects from anywhere around the world. This is a day when we can all show what we are made of and what we can build together, to create and perform for the world we want to live in. Fair Saturday is open to amateur and professional artists, social projects and communities, and can include cultural activities of all kinds. Everyone has a place in Fair Saturday.

Fair Saturday Edinburgh is kindly supported by the City of Edinburgh Council, and the Fair Saturday Edinburgh Community Engagement Fund supports community organisations and artists to create events for their community for Fair Saturday. More details can be found on our Tools page.

We’d love you to be part of creating a unique day and building bridges between people and communities.
